One of the first questions every client asks is simple: how long is this going to take? The honest answer depends on a handful of factors — but there's a realistic range worth knowing.

Straightforward claims

Where liability is clear and injuries are minor, claims can often settle within 3 to 6 months of the accident, once medical evidence is finalised.

More complex claims

Claims involving disputed liability, more serious injuries, or ongoing treatment typically take longer — often 9 to 18 months — since compensation can't be finalised until the full extent of injury is understood.

What speeds things up

What slows things down

Disputed fault, delays in medical evidence, and insurers requesting additional information are the most common causes of delay — most of which specialist handling can reduce.
